Dear Family and Friends:
The Extreme Makeover television shows offer viewers opportunities to see homes and people transformed right before their eyes. By the end of the show, the homeowner has a new living space; the person has a new style which incorporates fitness and beauty techniques. As exciting as these transformations can be, sustaining permanent change is often the challenge. For the believer, real change is an inside-out process, not the other way around. More importantly, this change is accomplished through one way – Jesus Christ.
The scripture above explains that we know Christ differently; He who once was a mortal that lived and served among men, is now the Savior of the world with victory over death, sin and the grave. Our believing and belong to Him makes us new people. Transformation through Christ doesn’t fade or revert back as a traditional make-over does; but it comes coupled with new mercies on a daily basis.
As we continue to work for the Kingdom I implore all of you to embrace the transformative power of Christ during this Lenten season. Our efforts of sacrifice should show us that with and through Christ all things are possible. Relying in our own strength, our own abilities, and our own capacity to love will always leave us lacking. Yet, whatever we need, God’s got it! Let’s remember CeCe Winans’ lyrics:
His strength is perfect when our strength is gone
He’ll carry us when we can’t carry on
Raised in His power the weak become strong
His strength is perfect, His strength is perfect!
For our ministries and for each of you I am believing God for this year to be one of bountiful blessings. It is my prayer that you too will believe God for everything that He has planned for you.
